Thirteen Things I’ve Done Recently By Frances
1.) Talked to my friend Heart on the telephone after almost a year. He had been traveling all about the planet sans cell phone for the whole time. Can you imagine?
2.) Rented and watched an amazing movie - Ten Questions For The Dalai Lama. I could not recommend it more.
3.) NaBloPoMo has gone monthly, and I decided to do it again in March. The theme (totaly optional) is Lists. Let’s hope I can come up with a unique list daily.
4.) My beloved Canon 3.2 camera stopped operating.
5.) I got a new camera - Canon 8.0.
6.) Destroyed several journals. Those were that I used as my b***h and moan files. As I tear up the pages into tiny pieces I caste my cares away.
7.) Visited the new Ripley’s Believe it or Not in Times Square. Loads of fun. Believe it or not I did not have my camera with me. A friend and I went on the spur of the moment. I did have my new Flip camcorder in my pocket.
8.) Learned that I move my hands and feet too quickly when I use my Flip. All my videos looked like those old time films where everything goes really fast.
9.) Got 5 fabulous polos and tees at Burlington for less than 40 bucks. They were having a spring thing.
10.) Changed all the alarms and alert tones on my cell phones. They were all irritating me.
11.) I am now more irritated than ever with the tones. Will have to try a new set.
12.) Found an incredibly cheap out of the way Internet cafe for when I want to work away from home. My laptop is too heavy to carry around.
13. Decided to never ever ever reveal location and price of said Internet cafe. Don’t want the world there crowding it up and rasing the rates

LOL Frances!!! What a GREAT list you have this week! That March NaBloPoMo sounds FUN … I might consider doing it too! Lists… doesn’t say how LONG the lists have to be - right? Just a daily list… I should be able to do this!!! I’m very sorry to hear about your Canon 3.2 — but Hooya for the Canon 8.0!!! Whooo hooo! Glad ya got to catch up with an old friend too — sounds like HE had the right idea!!!

I love #1 the best I think. How great to be cell-free for a year..I’d love to try it but I think I’d break at the 1st hurdle. Your friend must have a lot to tell you!
I must check out the Dalai Lama movie- that sounds fascinating.
Great list Frances, Thank you!
Mine’s about differences that I’ve noticed between the US and the UK. It’s up at:

I’d have no problem at all with #1. I avoid the phone as much as possible–a trait I recently learned that I inherited from my dad. Family and friends know to leave a message if they want to talk to me, or, better yet, send an email.

Great list Frances! I actually spend an hour on the phone yesterday with a friend I hadn’t spoken to in about 5 years, what fun it was to catch up!

Re: 10.) and 11.) I am convinced there ARE no good ones. My current ring tone is Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story saying “Incoming communication, I repeat, incoming communication. That must be star command with our next mission.” Which I liked for about a day, but then it began to annoy me. The only reason I keep it is because for some reason it freaks other people out - and I enjoy watching their faces when it rings in public. They look over their shoulder and all around, like they think the aliens have finally landed and are coming to get them.

New camera - how nice. Hope you get to take more fabulous pictures. My cell ring annoys me too but it was the least irritating one.

so much to comment on! Congrats on the new camera
LOVE the name “Heart”
I definitely would like to see Ten Questions For The Dalai Lama. And my txt alert is irritating me, but nothing else I have is any better. I’d LOVE light wind chimes for it

Great TT!! Bummer about the camera. But I’m so glad you got a newer, better model!! And THREE phones???? I guess I shouldn’t ask why you have three phones. And I can’t even imagine what it would be like to travel without a phone these days. Seriously. If I leave mine at home while I go to the store, I turn around and go get it. I’ve rather come to depend on it! And the out of the way internet cafe sounds great!! That’s too bad about your little Flip. Do you think maybe it just takes practice?
