Thirteen Things From My Week By Frances
1.) Rented and watched a British comedy called Death at a Funeral. Highly recommended. I’m also a big fan of Brit cons on TV. Favorites include Absolutely Fabulous, Chef, Keeping Up Appearances, The Vicar of Dilby, The Thin Blue Line, Are You Being Served? & Blackadder.
2.) Received a book I won in a raffle over at J. Kaye’s Book Blog. Now there’s a gal who can write a review.
3.) Finally sorted the giant bag of socks that’s been sitting by my dresser for weeks. A small accomplishment for some but huge for me.
4.) Decided that I need some online support to lose weight by summer. Just not getting it done on my own. Put the word out to my blog buddies. If you have any suggestions let me know in comments please.
5.) Discovered skinny decaf lattes at Starbucks. They’re great to sip on while I writing in a notebook.
6.) Finally started using my Blackjack to moblog. I’ve owned the thing for almost three months. It’s just that I can’t do anything before I am ready. I’m the same way with clothes. A new outfit can hang in my closet 6 months before it’s worn.
7.) Got together with dear HH. She’s the mother of a friend from childhood. We had dinner and talked. She understands everything. I never really knew my own mom; it would have been great to have one just like her.
8.) Sending an email to a friend I haven’t spoken to in 8 years. We didn’t have a falling out - just got busy.
9.) Rented and watched an excellent Independent film called ESL - English as a Second Language. Just how far will you go to live the American Dream?
10.) Set aside at least an hour every morning this week to write before I started my day.
11.) Have not been able to use my new camera. Evidentally I am in mourning for the old one.
12.) Tried out a couple of new memes.
13.) Read up on this new federal tax rebate thing - this may mean that we actually won’t owe anything this year. That is huge!

A great list Frances, thank you!
# 7 was very moving. I can’t imagine not knowing my own mother, although as my older sister and I compare notes now, it’s becoming clear how different each of our experiences our same mother, have been.
British TV- I have been wondering how many of our shows, if any, you get over there! Is there a particular channel they are aired on? Our favourite show is Spooks - about the British MI5; I think it would have been renamed though for US tv! I just hope it’s on…I watch very little tv but I do have my favourites!
Mine’s up too at

Must be something in the air, I have heard from 3 old friends in the last few weeks. All I haven’t spoke to in over 20+ years, since I moved away! It’s nice to catch up with old friends!
I LOVE Brit TV! One of my fav’s is My Family, reminds me of our family a bit too much! The Graham Norton Show is hilarious also, Top Gear, Dr. Who, Torchwood, gosh I could go on and on! LOL BBC America is on at our house most of the time between myself and my daughter. Hubby is getting hooked now too! LOL
Have a wonderful Thursday!
