10 Places You’d Take a Tourist to See in Your Hometown
When out-of-town friends come to New York I take them to my favorite parts of town to wander. We also do progressive meals; appetizers & cocktails in one place, entrees in another, dessert could be two or three miles later.
In No Particular Order
East Village (St. Mark’s Place, funky little bars & shops on 2nd Avenue)
West Village (Washington Square Park)
SoHo (very high-end window shopping & art galleries)
TriBeCa (cast iron architecture, dining, shopping)
Central Park (everywhere!)
Museum Mile, 5th Avenue (The Met, Guggenheim & The Whitney)
China Town (loads of cheap eats)
Chelsea (super trendy)
Union Square Park (people watching, Brunch at Coffee Shop or Republic)
Coney Island before it gets renovated

I loved visiting Washington Square Park. It was so peaceful and quiet I took a walk to Peanut Butter & Co. while down there and had an Elvis sandwich. Good times! I also loved walking through the fresh meat markets in Chinatown. I can’t wait to come back for another visit. My hubby was there on business so while he worked, I took a boat ride around Manhattan and saw some really amazing stuff. It was December and cold as whiz but I loved every second of it!

I love NYC! I lived in the West Village while studying at the Joffrey Ballet School. Brings back memories. Found you on my other blog: http://bloggingiszen.blogspot.com.
